Forgery

Many characters may wish to obtain legal documentation and/or false identities by contacting NPCs who provide those services. Such documentation has two aspects, which must be dealt with separately: the first is the physical documentation (birth certificate, driver’s license, diploma, etc. which all require the proper paper, ink, seals, signatures, etc.), the second is the supportive records in the various computer systems which relate to the first such as State files, college records, etc.

The player who wishes to obtain such false information may make one or both efforts, depending on their resources, contacts ,and the desired level of provable ‘truth’ they wish. Both attempts use the same basic roll, to find either Forger or Street-Hacker with the right contacts.

Keep in mind that while physical forgeries can be expensive, as the materials can be costly to acquire, computer hacking will be more so as passwords used may be noticed and lost forever. A Judge will later roll to see if your Hacker’s attempts were noticed, which will not be known by the character. (Staff: Roll 6 dice, diff 8 – 3 or more Succ notices)

Characters who already have acquired false IDs posses the first type – the physical documentation. This documentation will not pass a Background check or such, until the characters also acquire the supportive computer records by getting with a Judge and making the necessary rolls for that as well.
