Inspection Guidelines

In order to be linked to the IC grid, all buildings must pass the following criteria:

  1. All exits must have descs, succs, osuccs, and odrops. If the exit locks, it must have a fail and an ofail. Exceptions may be made in the case of “secret” exits, but these must have approval of RPstaff.
  2. All rooms and exits must be set SAFE.
  3. All doors leading to the street, or to the hallway if it’s in an apartment building, must lock. Code is visible on the exits in the Example Rooms but if you’re still not sure how, please ask Building Staff to do it for you. Building staff reserves the right to modify lock code to allow staff to pass.
  4. All rooms must have descs. The descs should reflect the contents of the room in general, leaving the minute details to +view.
  5. Typos and minor grammatical errors will be corrected routinely as part of the approval process. Gross grammatical errors where wording must be changed will be the player’s responsibility to correct. Chances are, if Building Staff doesn’t understand what you’re trying to say, no one else will either.
  6. Apartments and offices must follow the guidelines for the buildings in which they will be linked and adequately reflect the resource level of both the player and the building. (i.e.; Don’t build a 5-room apartment and expect it to be linked in a Res 1 tenement, and don’t build a balcony if you’re on the first floor.)
  7. Dark exits require special approval and special code.
  8. Security systems beyond the owner’s resource level must be approved by RPstaff. We are using the security guidelines found on the house rules global bulletin board.
  9. Outside rooms subject to local weather will have the proper code placed on them by Buildstaff.
